Is a Christian Organisation that offers assistence to people that live in the rural areas of Guatemala through the work of dedicated volunteers. In co-operation with the Government and local support HELPS has developed medical, health, construction, infrastructure education and economic development programs.

Food for the Hungry International     
FHI develops long-term programs that improve the living conditions of children and families around the world. FHI begun in Guatemala in 1976 after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 23,000 people. Today, FHI has solid programs in childrens development, education and grants.

Prodessa y Acrudei     
Prodessa, is a Guatemalan organization, nonlucrative, inspired by the philosophical concept of popular education, pushing a process of construction of an organizational model with the values of the Mayan culture.
The function of this structure is to provide support to the automation of the Farming production with an Ecological approach to support the harmonic coexistence of human beings and nature.
Acrudei, was legally formed in June 2002.
The objective of the association is to promote the sustainable developemnt of the Municipality of San Cristóbal Verapaz, respecting and strengthening the principles and values of the culture of each community.
Acrudei will have the responsibility to continue the process already initiated by Prodessa.

Asem     
ASEM is a non-governamental organization, of civil character, nonlucrative, services, development and social benefit, educative and cultural benefit.
The heart of the ASEM vision are the mesoneros. To prepare people to be the leaders of tomorrow. Men and women who can continue the developments of their communities, towns, cities and nation.
In San Cristobal Verapaz, ASEM has the following development projects:
Urban Area: College, All weather sports pitch, Cafe, Internet Cafe.
Rural Area: Community development of Acamal, Baleu, Santa Elena

International Coffee Partners     
This project works to offer support to sustainable coffee production and forestry in the municipalitys of Tamahú and San Cristobal Verapaz. ICP is a consortium between the private iniciative of ICP Europe, European Union co-operaction (UE- Proyecto ALA 94-89) and two local Pokomchi based groups: ACTASA (Asociación de Caficultores de Tamahú y San Cristóbal) y ASILCOM (Asociación de Silvicultores Comunitarios). Both groups work to increase the value of their products, coffee and wood, by working in an environmentally friendly way that is both socially acceptable and economically fair.

Gremio de Comerciantes    
Founded in 1990 with the objective to unite all the business people of San Cristobal in order to be able to work on the problems and issues they faced. The organisation also carries out activities to benefit the children of the town such as games and recreation to maintain a spirit of harmony in the community.

Asociación Cristiana de Jovenes     
ACJ reaches out to young people, families and the community to help people grow in mind, body and spirit.
With a presence in Guatemala since 1976, the assocation works towards the formation of young leaders with democratic values that influence the social and political dynamic of the country. ACJ have owned Campamento Chichoj since 1990 and using their group of young volunteers they offer programs of recreation and non-formal education. The group of volunteers also organises activities aimed at the children and young people of the area.

Centro Comunitario Educativo Pokomchi is an indigenous organisation trying to preserve and strengthen the cultural and linguistical heretage of the Pokomchí-Maya.
The organisation is a private and no-profit making. It has facilities in the Municipality of San Cristobal Verapaz, heart of the Pokomchí-Maya culture.

Génesis Empresarial     
Génesis Empresarial Foundation, is a private institution of development in Guatemala, non-lucrative, without religious purposes. It provides financial assistance, management training and business advice to owners of different businesses, hence strengthening the micro-enterprise and impels the development of the small enterprise. Besides it offers consultancy in community organization and financing, promoting development of communities in the rural area, through projects of basic infrastructure and housing.
There mission is - "Provide agile and opportune credit services, along with consultancy and training for Micro-Enterprises, Small Businesses and Rural Communities in order to achieve their sustained development with a broad outreach, hence accelerating Guatemala's progress".

Alcohólicos Anónimos   
Alcoholics Anonymous® is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.
